What are the best store bought hot dogs?

Well, we did taste test at home between Hebrew National and Nathans 1/4 pounder beef hot dogs.

We cooked them over charcoal with some hickory chips to provide smoke flavor. Cooked to slightly burnt. Served them on toasted white mountain bread with a touch of butter on the bread. Melted sharp cheddar cheese over the dogs in oven (on broil). Topped with a single line of mustard and catchup plus chopped raw onions. That's just how we like to cook dogs at home.

The winner was easily the Nathan Hot dogs. It wasn't even close.

What has been 'your' experience on the best store bought hot dog and how did you prepare them? Anyone find a dog better than Nathans? What are the best store bought hot dogs?
Vienna beef.

Absolutely NO ketchup on the dog!!! That's a no-no!What are the best store bought hot dogs?
Nathans is good, but my fave is still Hebrew National. It's just my taste. For something different I like Oscar Meyer smokies. Not a regular hot dog but just as good once in a while as a treat. For my H.N. hot dogs I do a ';four finger'; dog. This is two slit lenghtwise and cooked flat. Then you get whatever bread you like and toast it.I like a little mayo, yellow mustard and ketchup-lettuce and a couple of dill pickle slices.I eat mine with a couple of little yellow chiles on the side.
