Can you grill carrots?

Seriously, can you put them on a grill to cook, for how long, and will they taste good?

My boyfriend and I are relishing our brand new propane grill - we had a cute little weber charcoal grill before, but it was tiny. Now we are looking for new ways to cook anything we can get our hands on.

Right now, I have a bunch of chicken marinating in speedie sauce, and I would like carrots to go with it. Can I grill them, or should I just be too embarrassed to even think of such a thing and boil them instead? Can you grill carrots?
Grilled carrots are very sweet and delicious! I cut them into large chunks, place them on a heavy sheet of aluminum foil, and dot them with butter. (Wait to salt them until after they cook since salt can make them tough and the butter already has some salt.)

Fold the foil into a tight package and grill over indirect heat (i.e., shut down one side of the grill and place the packet on that side so that it cooks slowly.) Grill until the carrots are soft, turning several times.

Delicious!Can you grill carrots?
Thanks for all the answers everyone, I really appreciate knowing that I wasn't being weird. I steamed my carrots for a bit first, which cut down on cooking time, and they were really good.

I usually don't steam them, but I'll do that the next time I grill them. Glad you liked them!

absolutely...any veggie can be grilled...start your meat if your having meat.....dip your veggies...ie carrots...in a good veggie oil or olive oil...add season and put on grill carrots take about 15 minutes on a hot grill ...you must turn them frequently and remove just before the go limp or burn....good luck....try celery, broccoli, mushrooms corn....tomatoes...all Delicious ...and don't forget the green and red and yellow/orange peppers. yummy
yes you can do that put olive oil and some seasoning to give a taste. Tast good just don't burn them give it a bad taste.
Grilled veggies are super yummy! I usually combine a few different types in a foil bag, drizzle with oil, spice, maybe throw some feta cheese in there, and let the flavours meld! I've never tried grilling carrots 'as is', but I'd advise cutting them into smaller pieces to let the heat distribute evenly, and put them in foil with oil. Better if you blanche them first (boil them a bit to soften).
yea and that soungd real good
Yes you can. They are so good and easy to prepare.

Peel and chop some carrots

Steam them until half-way cooked

Toss with some olive oil, basalmic vinegar, brown sugar and salt (grated ginger optional)

Wrap in a foil packet and fold at top to seal

Place on grill until cooked through. (15-20 minutes)

You do not have to steam them but the cooking time will increase.
Honey, you can grill most anything your lil' heart desires. The carrots should be about medium size. or it will take forever for them to get past the crunchy stage. If you have only the large ones, cut them into 2-3'; so that they will be ready sooner. You can put them on skewers (in smaller chunks) awith onions, sweet peppers, etc. ENJOY!
absoluty. I suggest a simple but healty way.

put honey and cinnamon or nutmeg or both in a small cup

and use a basting brush to brush on the carrots and go ahead and grill away or place in oven and bake..

just so tasty.
